Playlist : 2/18/16 - 2/28/16
---------------------------------

-If for some reason you are following this blog and want to recommend a band or a record to me, leave a comment below. My collection is always changing and will continue to do so until my last breath or the Apocalypse; which ever comes first , it can be found at: Scratchbrad's Recordnerd. Cheers!

2/18/16
--------
Reason of Insanity / Race Against Time - Split 7" (2005)
 - I have not pulled this one out in a while, totally awesome split.

Kvoteringen - Storfinansen 7"
 - I am not totally blown away but I am sure the live sets are crazy.

Cadaver Em Transe - Self Titled LP (2014)
 - Man, I know I usually catch the boat a bit late but this album will be in my top tier for sometime.

Incantation - Onward To Golgotha LP (1992)
 - Time to throw on some classic Death Metal.

2/21/16
--------
Time to throw on the Amelie Soundtrack and relax.

2/22/16
--------

I needed to take my mind off things and wanted to look at life from another point of view. When nothing else matters, to look at things scientifically helps level my head and start planting my feet.

2/23/16
--------
Tervet Kadet - Lapinhelvetti LP (2015)
Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence LP (1987)
Disturd - Inside 7" (2014)
DOOM - Consumed To Death 7" (2015)
 - I have been a fan of this band for half of my life now. There has been periods of ups and downs just like any other band out there. This is a fairly strong EP for a band that has been going at it for over 25 years. There is more of a hardcore element pulling through then the grind aspect. I'll enjoy this record for some time.

Lastsentence - Absurd Days 7" (2015)
 - Totally love crazy noisy Japanese Hardcore. This is totally a lo-fi recording that reminds me of listening to records before recording techniques via digital got "better". I am not biased but a throw back is just that.

Asinine Solution - Cause Effect 7" (1998)
 - One of my first records and one that I will always totally get down to.

Defacto Oppression - Were Digging Our Own Graves... 7" (1999)
 - This was the first band I really got to see live, in some sweaty-ass basement out there in Western-Wisconsin. I bought this record before I saw them, it's tight but their album is fucking fantastic and still holds up against many "modern bands".

Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry LP (1984)
 - I had to throw this on just to annoy the hell out of my roommates. Doors slammed, curses sung and I am not going to take that attitude. *Turns knob to eleven,

Protest Stagnation - Self Titled 7" (2003)
 - I haven't heard this EP all that well in the years it as been in my collection. The center was printed a wee too big and never fit any of my turntables until now. FUCK. I wish I was blaring this record more often. The vocals kill along with awesome hard hitting hardcore. For some reason I just caught their act in Menominee WI and went skinny dipping JUST down river from the sewage plant...that and fire spinning.

Another Oppressive System / Human Waste - Split 7" (2004)
 - Still an awesome split years later. A.O.S delivers that East Coast crustcore sound with utter brutality; while Human Waste slays everything in their path,

Initial State - Abort The Soul LP (1994)
 - This is the third time I have owned this album; it is even funnier that is the copy that I sold to the ;Noise' in the first place, I recognize the 'pops' at the end of "Collapse". I was dumb to sell this in the first place. It is on par with His Hero Is Gone and downright excellent musicianship.

Acephalix - Interminable Night LP (2011)
 - To refect on past thoughts: "The collapse of civilization is here and Acephalix is the stinging concussion from the failed scheme."

Vastusta - Demo 15/12/2014 Cassette (2015)
 - Outside of basement shows this is the first tape I have bought straight up in a long time. Fuck, if I had the money I found put THIS recording out on vinyl on my own label.

Complete Waste- Self Titled 7" (2008)
 - Straight forward hardcore, if you'd put me in the basement where they were playing I would have a fucking blast. We all have our preferences, mine is based on an awesome time, great music and a mutilale understanding that we are tired of shit. These recording living up to that standard.

Kulturkampf - Too Cold To Smell The Dead 7" (2006)
 - This Ep still brings back memories of seeing bands from no-where, that's how I met people from all over. "No cure for cancer!"

Playlist up to 1/8/16

Late December is usually very busy time.

--------
12/28/15 - no time to listen to music today
--------
False - Self Titled / Untitled 2xLP (Gilead Media, 2015)
- I needed a familiar band to really unwind after work so I an get up and go back to work; gotta love being poor. False has been a band that brings forth style changes and an unrelenting ferocious being. With this album they really have tapped some of the early 'Emperor' sound with the synths in an excellent way. It is not mimicking but creating a different atmosphere, such as their music in general, unique to it self. This album is haunting, bleak and is some of their best material yet. Their lives shows are intense and always a good distraction from the rest of the shitty world around us.

--------
1/6/16
--------
Miasmal - Self Titled LP
Butcher - Holding Back The Night LP

V/a  - Yalta Hi-life LP
- Old chool Finish Punk at it best. I think that the B-side grabbed my attention the most; "Kansanturvamusiikkikomissio" the most with the song 'Albania'.

Dark Throne - A Blaze In The Northern Sky LP
Sonny Osborne - 5 String Hi-Fi LP

--------
1/7/16
--------
Avskum - Punkista LP
 - One of my favorite albums by one of my favorite Swedish bands. Fight back capitalism!

Kuro - Hardcore Damnation 1983/1986 LP
 - I thought it be easier to listen to them but having a compilation of their 7"s and comps they have been on.

V/a  - Yalta Hi-life LP
 - This record will be on heavy rotation.

--------
1/8/16

Amebix - Monolith LP

Playlist 12/27/15

12/27/15
--------
Deviated Instinct - Re-opening Old Wounds LP
-This is some classic shit right here!

Appalachian Terror Unit - We Don't Need Them LP
-I listened to this two times in a row just to get a feel of the album. I am still on the fence but it sounds pretty tight.

Unholy Grave / Butcher ABC - Nuke 'Em All 7"
- At one time, Unholy Grave, was my favorite band; they bring a perfect amount of raw grinding noise to the plate that is addicting. Butcher ABC is one of Japan's best grind bands.

Warcry - Harvest of Death 7"
- I can never get enough Warcry to keep my head banging.

Clusterfux - Abandon Your Gods LP
- Melodic and hard-hitting; pretty decent songs here.

Kromosom - 8 Tracks 12"
- Raw and chaotic. Fuck yeah!

Hellnation - Your Chaos Days Are Numbered LP
- Power-violence is not my favorite genre but this album stands out as one of the best.

Reality Crisis - Discharge Your Frustration LP
- This hardcore band is totally underrated.

------------
Heard at Work: (my coworkers can surprise me from time to time):
X - Los Angeles

Dinosaur Jr.
- Haven't heard many songs outside of 'Without a Sound'. Not the biggest fan but whatever
------------

Celtic Frost - Monotheist LP
- Great album to unwind to.

12/12 - 12/14/15

Totally forgot to put this up and keep a good playlist, work and life tend to get in the way.

12/12/15
--------
Entombed - Clandestine LP
 - I've been in a Death Metal mood lately.

Bolt Thrower - For Victory LP
 - So glad to see a sloth of Bolt Thrower reisues in the past few years.

Dismember – Death Metal 2xLP
 - I know it is not everyone's favorite album but there are some damn good tracks on this album.

--------
12/14/15
--------

Asinine Solution - Cause Effect 7"
 - One of my favorite recordings of all time. This seven inch is catchy and fast. The Wisconsin scene was totally underrated at the time and that was too bad for everyone else.

Assbrigade - Demo 2012 Tape
 - Yeah, I listen to my own band's music...so fucking what.

Zero Hour - Self Titled 7"
 - Still, these songs are great. The B-Side/Side B; these are some the strongly contructed to date in this genre.

Defiance - No Future No Hope LP
 - Yep, kinda drunk and this album still reigns true.

Nightfell - Darknss Evrmore LP
 - HOLY SHIT! I am listening to this album more.

Neurosis - Soverin EP 12"

Friday, December 11, 2015

Playlist : 12/3/15 - 12/8/15

-------
12/3/15
-------
Warning - Protest And... Still They Die? 7" (1993?)
 - I still think that this EP is a bit of a let down. Their sound is super stripped down to a less raw early eighties Discharge style and lacks the power that it really is striving for. But recording techniques have changed a bit since this recording.

Peroxide - Can You Hear The Sound Of Peace? 7" (2012)
 - The chain saw buzz of the guitar mixed with a precious bass attack, over hard hitting drums with a howling voice are deafening my ears! 'Nuclear Solution' is totally my favorite of this slab of madness.

Genocide / Sorto ?– Final Path To Destruction LP (2005)
 - Genocide's recording from 1993, is fucking tight as hell and full of desperation. Sorto's '83-84' demo side are totally chaotic as hell and distorted as fuck.

Napalm Raid - Mindless Nation LP (2012)
 - Totally, DOOM, crustcore worship done in the best fucking way.

Totalt Jävla Mörker - Helvetespunk 7" (2015)
 - It's been a while since their last release. The metal influence really was knocked up a few notches but in a damn good way.

Asfixia - Self Titled 7" (2006)
 - Really, this group should have been up there with Ekkaia and Cop On Fire. Totally raging melodic hardcore.

Contagium - Self Titled 7" (2009)
 - Sludgy and metallic crust is quite possibly my favorite style of punk. This EP is dead on within that vein of heavy overkill.

Abaddon - Life Out of Balance LP (2009)
 - Some excellent grind/death from Wisconsin.

Zero Hour - Self Titled 7" (1994)
 - That mid ninties crust-punk is at it's best within these four tracks.

Off to work.

12/4/15 (classic's night!!!)

12/5/15
-------
Entombed - Clandestine LP (1991)
 - Since I am on metal kick, might as throw this album on.

Dark Throne - Blaze In The Northern Sky

-------
12/7/15
-------
It is a Hayden, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms or many other classics; kinda nights.

-------

Remission

-Remission '95

-Remission started out in 1995 in Manitowoc playing thrashy political punk. They recorded plenty of music on labels all of the the world; two of those being on Power Ground (also from WI). As of 2008, Remission has come back from the grave with a new line up that seems like it will be a pretty damn good time.

Death First

-Death First played crossover with political overtone (or songs about grizzlies battling salmon swimming upstream). They formed around the Amery area then relocated to Menominee. They broke up after they realized that their lead guitarist was better Municipal Waste's.
